A two-vehicle crash at the intersection of North and Commonwealth avenues in Attleborough Falls on Oct. 4 left a driver hospitalized after their vehicle struck a residence.
According to the police report filed by North Attleborough Police Officer Maille Bennet, first responders arrived on the scene around 7 p.m. on Saturday night to find a white 2014 Volkswagen Jetta lodged in the side of a garage located at 296 Commonwealth Ave.
The driver, a 61-year-old man, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital by the Fire Department with minor injuries.
The driver reported traveling straight through a green light at the intersection when a black 2016 Audi traveling in the opposite direction made a left-hand turn and struck his vehicle. The juvenile driving the Audi was cited at the scene for failure to yield at an intersection.
A witness said the black Audi turned left from Robert Toner Boulevard onto North Avenue, striking the white sedan and sending it through a fence and into the side of the garage attached to the residence on Commonwealth Avenue.
The juvenile was evaluated by NAFD at the scene and refused transport or medical assistance. Both vehicles were reported to have heavy damage and all airbags were deployed, according to the police report.
The homeowner, who was not home at the time, was notified of the crash, which left substantial damage to the left side of the garage and the garage door. The town’s building inspector was also notified of the incident.
