Board/Committee Experiences:

High School Building Committee member

Amvet PTO: President, past vice president, past chair – Playground Committee

Providence Engineering Society: Current trustee, past president, various board positions

Why are you running for this position?

My passion is to create a positive impact within our community, which includes focusing on making our educational environment thrive. I have been actively involved with the Amvet PTO for the past three years and I have a strong desire to further my involvement in our public schools.  My parents were in public education and education was an important part of my life growing up. I’m excited to contribute and collaborate on the North Attleborough School Committee. I look forward to working collaboratively with parents, teachers and the community to build bright futures for our students.

If elected, what issues would you like to focus on?

I would continue the work of the School Committee, making sure students have a safe and secure learning environment. When students feel safe and confident, they have the ability to reach their potential. I would encourage support for our amazing staff — their dedication and commitment is the heart of our school district. Facility maintenance is something that is very important to preserve the town’s investments in our schools’ aging infrastructure. Lastly, I want to be transparent in communication, both in listening to those that come to the School Committee, but also in getting our communications out to the residents.

What sets you apart from other candidates?

With a civil engineering background, I have experience in project budgets, project management, and a blend of creative and logical problem-solving techniques. Many of the projects I worked on as a civil engineer were improvements to school districts. My active participation in local organizations reflects my passion and dedication to our community and has enabled me to form relationships with the current school administration and town. However, I’d also like to focus on what brings us together as well. All three candidates are parents with students in the school district and share a passion for a thriving school atmosphere.

What are some areas that the town has improved upon and what, in your opinion, remains to be done?

The town and the School Department have done a great job in the past few years increasing emphasis on the importance of public education.  By enhancing curriculum and maintaining schools, they’ve created momentum with far-reaching benefits. Better shared resources, preventative maintenance, and incentives for student retention strengthen the community. This progress not only reduces future costs, but also attracts families, fostering growth and pride in public education.

Every district has opportunities for growth, and North Attleborough is no exception. I look forward to working toward thoughtful solutions if elected to the School Committee.

Being part of a board requires one to be a team player. Does your background lend you to working well in this environment?

I’ve had the privilege of serving on various boards, both professionally and in the community. I enjoy these roles for the opportunity to listen, collaborate, and solve problems as a team. The diversity of perspectives and the sense of camaraderie in working towards common goals are incredibly rewarding. My board experiences have taught me the importance of adaptability and open-mindedness. Positive impacts can be made when collective knowledge and teamwork are put to work.
