Health Department to offer free vocational counseling
Human Service Coordinator Stephen Berdos has begun conducting remote vocational counseling sessions as of March 1. This service is available to any North Attleborough resident who is unemployed or underemployed and seeking new job opportunities. The counseling sessions will assist residents in developing skills for finding and retaining employment, including interview preparation, resume writing, cover letter creation, and compiling a list of professional references. Referrals to a state agency for vocational rehabilitation may also be provided if the resident qualifies.
Residents interested in receiving vocational counseling must schedule appointments in advance. Three appointments will be available every Saturday on a first-come, first-served basis, beginning at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., and 11 a.m. Each session will last approximately one hour. Times are subject to change. Residents can register for an appointment online.

Oldtown Church corned beef supper
The First Congregational Church UCC of North Attleborough (Oldtown Church) is hosting a corned beef supper at 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 8. The menu includes home-cooked corned beef, red potatoes, carrots, cabbage, Irish Soda Bread, rolls, desert and beverage, served family-style.
The price is $18 for adults and $9 for children 10 years old and under. One dollar of each adult meal served will go to the Food Forward mission to help feed those in need.
Serving begins promptly at 5 p.m., so please plan to check in around 15 minutes in advance.
Reservations are required and can be made by calling or texting Ed at 508-212-4774 or online at https://oldtownucc.org/supper-reservations. Take-out orders can also be accepted. The Vestry hall is handicap accessible through the rear entrance at the back of the church. Oldtown church is located at 675 Old Post Road, North Attleborough.
United Regional Chamber of Commerce Cornhole Tournament
United Regional Chamber of Commerce Member (UCCC) and Chairman’s Circle member Plainridge Park Casino will be hosting the chamber’s second Cornhole Tournament and Social Networking event on Thursday, March 13, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with registration starting at 5 p.m. The event will be held on the second floor of the casino’s racetrack. Plainridge Park Casino is located at 301 Washington St. in Plainville.
The cost for a two-person cornhole team is $50, attendees who are interested in networking, the cost for members is $15 and non-members is $25 per person. This event is sponsored by Plainridge Park Casino.
