North Attleborough Around Town: Holiday fair, pet clinic

Historical Society “My Favorite Things” Holiday Fair

The members of the North Attleborough Historical Society have selected their favorite things and would like to share them during a holiday fair and open house on Saturday, Nov. 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Little Red School House and the Woodcock Garrison located at 362 North Washington St.

In the Woodcock Garrison, docents will guide visitors through a feast for the senses; starting with the turkey roasting on the open fire and a theme “a Few of My Favorite Things” highlights throughout the house.

The schoolhouse will feature vintage and new items including Byers’ Choice and Annalee dolls, Longaberger baskets, hand painted signs, handmade cards, nutcrackers, Christmas decor and other treasures. Raffles feature dozens of gift baskets, themed Christmas Trees, artwork, photographs and hand-knit items.

New this year, a selection of Chocolates by Shirley will be available along with special order items. The bake shop features the best homemade goodies, pies, cakes, breads and cookies.

 

Oldtown Church Pet Vaccination Clinic

The First Congregational Church UCC of North Attleborough (Oldtown Church) will hold its next pet vaccination clinic for dogs and cats from 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 675 Old Post Rd. North Attleboro. Please call / text 508-212-4774 or email chopper1951@verizon.net  for information, fees and to make an appointment for vaccinations, heartworm tests or deworming.

Vaccinations and tests are individually priced, without additional clinic or other fees, only cash or personal checks accepted. Rhode Island residents and walk-ins are welcome. Pre-registration via phone or text is preferred. Appropriate social distancing is encouraged. Pets will be received outside the building.

All cats must be in carriers and dogs must be on leashes, with muzzles as necessary. Services will be provided by Dr. Peter Granville DVM. The entrance for the vaccination clinic is in back of the church, to the rear of the parking lot, follow the signs. Please remain in the vehicle until called.
