Personal property, real estate taxes due

A reminder that second quarter personal property and real estate taxes are due Nov. 1. Please pay on or before Wednesday, Nov. 1, to avoid an interest penalty.

South Attleboro Village Lions Club’s Luck of the Draw raffle

The South Attleboro Village Lions Club will be having the Luck of The Draw Raffle Night (formerly called Chopstick Auction) on Saturday, Oct. 28 at Saint Aidan-St. Patrick’s Parish Hall, 1460 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland, Rhode Island.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the drawing begins at 7 p.m. Admission is $25. There will be free coffee and tea all night. Soda, water, sandwiches and snacks will be for sale. No alcohol allowed.

South Attleboro Village Lions Club Mini-Carnation Day

The South Attleboro Village Lions Club will hold a Mini-Carnation Day to benefit Mass. Lions Eye Research. The cost is $7 per bunch and checks can be made out to the South Attleboro Village Lions Club. Payment must be received by Oct. 26. No order will be accepted after this date. Church bazaar with shoppes, games, and Santa

The public is invited to the annual St. Theresa’s of the Child Jesus Church Bazaar on Friday, Nov. 10, 5:30-8:30 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 11, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

The event is located on the corner of Rt. 1/Washington Street and 18 Baltic St., South Attleboro. While strolling the village streets, you will encounter a variety of shoppes which include the seven shoppes, five games of chance for adults and kids alike, 13 raffles and St. Theresa’s Cafe’ with signature meat pies and fresh made dishes.

Come join Santa and Mrs. Claus on Friday, 5:30-8 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. They will be in the neighborhood and hope to see everyone in the village.

Class on debt, saving and investing

How Money Works classes: a guide to budgeting, paying of debt, saving and investing. Classes will be on Mondays: Nov. 6 and 13. Offered by Community Center of North Attleborough and there is a suggested donation of $5.

Different topics and times for different age groups:

  • Ages 65+ , Preservation and distribution, 1-2 p.m.
  • Ages 15-24, Paying Debt, Savings, Debit Cards, 5-6 p.m.
  • Age 25-55, Take Control of your Finances, 7-8 p.m.
