Cannabis dispensary Native Sun is looking to add unique murals to the exterior of their three adult-use locations including Hudson, North Attleborough and South Boston, along with their grow facility. Massachusetts-based artists have the opportunity to submit their original artwork for a chance to have their work prominently displayed.
From Aug. 16-30, talented artists ages 21 and up can offer up original artwork to be considered for one of the four designated mural locations, including Native Sun South Boston opening this Fall. Throughout the application process, artists will have to submit a portfolio highlighting their work along with a sketch of the mural concept for Native Sun’s retail and grow locations, adhering to the guidelines detailed out in the official rules landing page on their website.
“When it comes to our retail experience, we truly aim to provide new and existing guests with a unique experience from the moment they set eyes on any of our facilities,” said Christina Alario, senior marketing manager at Native Sun Cannabis. “At Native Sun, we’re proud to be Massachusetts founded and owned, so we focus on engaging and supporting our surrounding communities. As we get ready to open in South Boston, we thought it was important to give a local artist the opportunity to express the positive attributes cannabis can bring to a community – and have that seen by thousands of people driving by and coming through our doors daily.”
Once the submission portal has closed, a panel of judges, consisting of Native Sun’s leadership team, will review all submitted artwork. Based on artistic merit, originality, relevance to the Native Sun mission, values, vibe, and feasibility for installation, up to four winners will be selected and commissioned to install their mural(s) at Native Sun. Winner(s) will be notified on Sept. 7, via email and publicly on Native Sun’s social media channels.
