North Attleboro Firefighters Kids Day event listing

Where: 520 Landry Ave North Attleboro Middle School

When: Thursday July 22-Sunday July 25

After a year off due to the COVID-19 Pandemic the North Attleboro Firefighters Kids Day Association is holing its 40th annual Kids Day Carnival at the North Attleborough Middle School at 520 Landry Ave.

The North Attleboro Firefighters Kids Association is a non-profit organization the started in 1980. The mission of the organization is to raise funds to donate back to the community for those who need it the most. The main source of income is the Associations four day event which has been held in July each year. In its entire 41-year existence, last year was the first time in its history that the whole event was called off.

The four day event consist of food, music, carnival rides, a firetruck parade, fireworks, and many other activities for the entire family to enjoy. This year will feature most of the same activities as previous years with a few changes due to last-minute planning.

Some of these changes include only one night of fireworks instead of two on Saturday night (weather permitting), no 5K road race, and a reduced food menu.

The four day event is free of charge to get in. It is a family friendly event and no alcohol is allowed or sold for consumption. Also as per town bylaw dogs and other animals are not permitted to be on the field or in the carnival at any time.

The music schedule is as follows:

Thursday

5-7 p.m.: Mike Cavanagh

7:15-9:45 p.m.: The Rob Davis Band

Friday

6-8 p.m.: Tobe Rode

8:15-10:15 p.m.: Vinyl Echo

Saturday

6-6:45 p.m.: Casual Mondays

7-8 p.m.: MassQuinn

8:15-10:30 p.m.: Morrissey Blvd

Event activities

Infinity and beyond character entertainment (superhero/Star Wars characters)

Premier martial arts mastery MMA

Craft fair 12-3 p.m.

Hot dog eating contest 5-6 p.m.

Geoff Esper, #2 competitive eater in the world, signing autographs 6-7 p.m.

Live pro wrestling 5-8 p.m.

The route of the parade is as follows:

Start at Mason Field at 11 a.m. Straight on Elm Street toward center of town. Right onto North Washington Street. Right turn across Route 1 at Coffee Connection to Elmwood Street. Proceed up Elmwood to Mt. Hope Street. Right onto Mt. Hope Street to Landry Avenue. Left onto Landry and proceed to Middle School.

Sunday

Touch-a-Truck 12-3 p.m.

Christmas in July (summer Santa appearance) (time TBA)

The Kids Day Firetruck parade will kick off at 11 a.m. from Mason Field and end at the Middle School.

 

Credit and debit cards are accepted at the food tent. All events are subject to change and are weather permitting.
