The North Attleborough Senior Center will be hosting a Virtual Meeting on Monday, May 10, at 1 p.m. for any senior interested in the Senior Tax Work Off Program. This meeting is only for those applying for the first time.
This year the amount has increased to $750 off your property taxes and there will be 20 participants. To complete the program, seniors must work in an assigned Town Department for 55.5 hours during the period of July 12-Oct. 22.
Program applicants must be:
- 60 years of age or older as of Jan. 1, 2021
- A homeowner as of January 1, 2021
- Occupy the property for which property taxes are paid.
All applicants must fill out a CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) request form, W-4; provide a copy of their driver’s license and a current property tax bill. New applicants must also fill out an I-9 (proof that they are authorized to work in the United States) and provide a copy of their passport or birth certificate.
Applicants are making a commitment to work 55.5 hours from July 12–Oct. 22 which is a 15-week period. This averages to about 3.7 hours per week so please keep this in mind. Some job positions can be completed quicker if more hours are worked weekly, but nothing is guaranteed.
Please call 508-699-0131 and provide a name and email address to attend the virtual meeting. After a number of first-time applicants has been determined, the program will open up for those who participated in the past.
