With less than two months to go until North Attleborough’s April 1 annual Town Election, 11 residents have turned in their nomination papers to run for 16 available positions.

All nine Town Council seats have openings, along with the School Committee, Board of Public Works and Electric Commission, which have two openings each. The Parks and Recreation Commision has one open seat.

John Costello, Daniel Donovan, Mark Gould Jr., Justin Pare and Patricia St. Pierre all turned in their nomination papers, seeking re-election for another two-year term. Leo Glennon, Kevin McCarthy and Laura Wagner also turned in papers in hopes of being elected to the council for the first time. Town Council seats are voted on bi-annually, with all seats up for re-election at the same time.

School Committee member David Chee announced at a recent meeting that he is not running for another term. Fellow committee member and Vice-Chairman Ethan Hamilton, has not yet turned in nomination papers, leaving his plans for re-election unknown at this time. Cari Orsi, in her first ever bid for School Committee, is eyeing one of the open seats. Steven Cabral and Paul Rofino will run again — uncontested thus farb— for their seats on the Electric Commission and Parks and Recreation Commission, respectively.

All papers must be returned by the 5 p.m. deadline on Tuesday, Feb. 11. North Attleborough residents looking for more information on local elections or wanting to check their voter status can visit the town’s website and find answers on the “Voting in North Attleboro” webpage.
