Jessie Macomber honored for her many years at Lenore’s Pantry

Staff Report

The Town of North Attleborough recognized Jessie Macomber for her 20 years of dedicated volunteer service at Lenore’s Pantry.

On Tuesday, Jan. 7, town officials hosted a ceremony at Town Hall to honor Macomber’s long-standing commitment to volunteering at Lenore’s Pantry. During the ceremony, Town Manager Michael Borg and Health Director Anne Marie Fleming spoke about Macomber’s unwavering support for those in need.

To honor her volunteer work, Director Fleming and Human Services Coordinator Stephen Berdos presented Macomber with a ceremonial pin and flowers.

Since 2005, Macomber has volunteered at Lenore’s Pantry, organizing and distributing food to individuals facing food insecurity in North Attleborough. She is known for going above and beyond for pantry patrons, often baking muffins and sharing recipes.

“Jessie is one of the sweetest and most helpful people I met when I joined the pantry over 10 years ago. When I had questions about the pantry’s operations, she always knew how things worked and helped me get started in my duties,” said long-time Lenore’s Pantry volunteer Brandon Moore.

Macomber also shares her time at the Second Congregational Church in Attleboro, where she bakes apple pies and cinnamon rolls for the Christmas fair.

“It’s dedicated individuals like Jessie who enable Lenore’s Pantry to assist the high volume of patrons it serves every month,” said Fleming. “Jessie’s spirit and kind nature have profoundly impacted those Lenore’s serves.”
