A vehicle crash in which a 20-year-old man from North Attleborough was killed is now under investigation, according to Smithfield Police.
On Dec. 16, at approximately 5:35 p.m., a two-vehicle collision occurred in Smithfield, Rhode Island, resulting in one fatality and multiple injuries. The cause is still under investigation.
The victim from North Attleborough sustained critical injuries and was transported to Rhode Island Hospital, according to police. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital.
The driver of the second vehicle and a juvenile passenger were also injured and taken to Rhode Island Hospital and Hasbro Children’s Hospital, respectively, for treatment.
Authorities are actively investigating the cause of the crash and any contributing factors. Further details will be provided as they become available.
