A parking ban will go into effect on midnight, Jan. 7 due to the upcoming snowstorm, the town’s Emergency Advisory Board announced.

In a news alert on the town’s website posted the afternoon of Jan. 5, the advisory board said all vehicles are prohibited from parking on public ways during the ban’s duration.

The board said the ban does not have a set expiration date and will only be lifted after the Department of Public Works clears all the roads and deems them safe for travel. The town is expected to receive three to six inches of accumulated snow, according to the National Weather Service’s three-day forecast.

According to the advisory board, any vehicles in violation of the ban will be issued a parking violation or towed.
