Patrick Reynolds endorsed by local elected officials and labor unions

Patrick Reynolds, Democratic candidate for State Representative in the 14th Bristol District seat formerly held by Betty Poirier, has been endorsed by local political leaders as well as organized labor. Supporters praised his record of local public service, support for public education, and commitment to standing up for workers. These endorsements represent leaders from North Attleborough, Attleboro, and Mansfield.

North Attleborough Town Council President Keith LaPointe endorsed Patrick Reynolds, citing their history of working together on local issues. “When I think about all the positive momentum in North Attleboro, I can honestly trace almost all of it back to the election of Patrick Reynolds to the Board of Selectmen more than 5 years ago,” Lapointe said. “Patrick was a voice of reason and balance, and commanded the respect of his colleagues and Town Officials, while still just in High School.” “Since then, Patrick completed 5 years as a Selectmen, two as its Chair, while winning reelection the year I was elected Selectmen to serve along side of him. I can honestly say, one of the reasons I ran for Selectman and now Council, was because of Patrick and the momentum he showed me could happen when good people invest their energy in the process.”

Mansfield elected officials have also endorsed Patrick’s campaign. Select Board Chair Frank DelVecchio said, “As a Select Board member, I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with our legislative delegation and to understand how important it is to have someone on Beacon Hill who understands local government. Patrick’s maturity and intelligence stand out, but I’m most impressed by his commitment to fulfilling his obligation to the voters by serving 5 years on the North Attleborough Board of Selectman. That experience and commitment will help make him an excellent State Representative for Mansfield and the entire District.”

David Murphy, the former chairman of the Attleboro School Committee, has endorsed Patrick for his long and steady record of public service. David said “Patrick will bring a degree of thoughtfulness to the legislature that is too often lacking on Beacon Hill.” “He will advocate zealously for the common good and refrain from the petulant social media bickering that consumes the time of some area officials. Patrick understands that public service is about service to others and not celebrations of self, and for these reasons, he will make for an excellent and at times outstanding State Representative.”

Adding to Patrick’s long list of local endorsements are prominent Massachusetts labor-organizations including the AFL-CIO, Mass Building Trades Council, Mass and Northern New England Laborers’ District Council, Laborers’ Local 138, and Roofers’ Local 33. Supporting his record on behalf of working people, the Laborers’ District Council said, “[Patrick’s] tireless advocacy of issues and protections benefiting working class families has been commendable. We are confident that [Patrick’s] passion and commitment to these issues will best serve the interests of our members and all the hard working men and women in Massachusetts.”

We need a State Representative who’s ready on Day One to work with community leaders to ensure we get the resources to weather the Coronavirus pandemic,” said Patrick Reynolds. “I am honored to have the support of these community leaders and labor organizations, and I look forward to working with them on the issues that matter most to the residents of the 14th Bristol District.”

Patrick Reynolds served two-terms as a North Attleborough Selectman, including as Chairman. During his time as a Selectman, Patrick was a leader of the “Unite for North” campaign, which increased funding for our schools and first responders. Patrick introduced North Attleboro’s first small business tax incentive and was a strong supporter of revitalizing the abandoned factories downtown. He believes now more than ever, we need elected officials who get results, as we recover from the Coronavirus pandemic. As State Representative, he will continue Representative Betty Poirier’s legacy of leadership and excellent constituent services on Beacon Hill.
